Retiring and moving from Illinois, selling a house there, to buying a house in North Carolina could have been a nightmare. David contacted us several times by phone prior to our coming to North Carolina to liik for a home. He asked questions, found out what we wanted and sent us e-mails displaying homes on a regular basis for our comments. We told David we would be in North Carolina for one week and needed to purchase a house during that week. David literally took us house hunting from daylight to dark. We love the mountains and more than anything wanted a home with a view of the mountains, in our price range. We eventually narrowed it down to viewing two of the homes again, David cheerfully complied. His wife even sent us fudge to snack on along the way. We chose a home, made an offer and it was accepted. now another challenge was to get all the paper work done while we were states away. No need to worry David acted as our advocate and helped to make the process go smoothly. He reccommended a bank, an attorney, an inspector, anything he thought we might need. The deal went through but David was not finished with us yet. There was a dehumidifier in our basement that needed emptied once a week and someone needed to check on the house. David went to check the house each week and dumped the dehumidifier, then he would call us and let us know that everything was fine. He supplied phone numbers and information on the power company, phone company and anyone else we needed to contact. As the time got closer to move we decided to only move a minimal amount of things and buy new when we arrived, bringing practically no furniture. We moved in a U-Haul but since we are retired thought unloading it might be a challenge. No need to fear, David to the rescue, he arranged to have some of his employees and even his son meet us and help to unload the U-Haul. What a great guy. He is an outstanding realtor, going the extra mile, on not just one but every occasion. For quite some time, it's been a dream of mine to own a place in the mountains. I've lived my entire life in the south and have always known that beaches are not for me - I love the calm peaceful quiet of the mountains.
